Can I Use my Gardening Hand Creams?

While I’m staying calm in the wake of the Coronavirus because there are no reported cases where I live it’s definitely gotten my attention with all the publicity about the importance of hand washing.

I remember during another viral outbreak when Aunt Mary, an RN, talked about her concern that people didn’t do proper hand washing to stop the spread of viruses.

So I’ve been doing the recommended 20 seconds of hand washing and, not surprisingly, ended up with dry skin. Now I’m debating how to soften my hands safely without undoing the sanitizing effect of the wash.

I have some great creams I use after a session in the garden that work really well but I’m just not sure what is the best type of delivery vessel to use. Some creams come in a tub, like a salve. Others come in pumps or squeeze bottles. Is one safer than another?

I’ll be doing some more research on that over the weekend so stay tuned.
